While selling building products during 1975,I realized an untapped market in the Niagara Peninsula--providing physical plant inspection and making budgetary recommendations to industrial firms and large commercial facilities. Many people didn't have the time nor the ability to objectively evaluate their facility needs.

Watertite Roofing was developed in 1975 to specify, install and apply construction/roofing products. The potential was expanding, so Tarmco Construction Limited was created to become the umbrella construction corporation. These two companies were created by recognizing the needs of my customers.

In the beginning, credibility was the main challenge, but many contracts came from recommendations--this is how much of our work continues today...

My family and business matured and changed. Technologies and communications became new territories to conquer but rewards followed those years of hard work and creative management. After twenty eight years, I can proudly say that we have grown our company by over 2000%. In fact, we still do business with some of our very first customers with some original employees. This illustrates a commitment to both staff and customer, and we continue to pride ourselves in providing quality service at competitive prices.

After personally dealing with over 15,000 customers--addressing their building requirements and designing for their firms individual needs--we feel that no job is beyond us. With a background in both structural engineering and architecture, we are comfortable meeting with building owners, property managers, physical plant staff or engineers, architects and corporate presidents.

Tarmco Construction Limited has successfully completed many unique projects including large flooring installations for meat packaging food plants; sandblasting repainting industrial facilities; re-designing and re-building a pet food plant; installing steel walls and steel buildings; building single family dwellings, and luxury town-homes. Presently, we are planning a 95 unit multi-zoned residential construction project.

Still there are lessons to be learned, but by applying past experiences to new work; we often circumvent pitfalls which could upset new and existing customers. Checking and evaluating our performance has saved money and unnecessary aggravation.

With a staff of 14 full time employees and a year round operation; we provide our customers with a well-rounded variety of services. Our two companies interact as one, operating from a 10,000 sq. ft. facility and we continually work to compile a variety of equipment vehicles and utilized newer technologies. This improves communication, and enables us to arrive on a job-site, well-prepared with the required materials and equipment at hand. Using various trucks and licenced operators; we are set up and working on the job within  a shortest possible period of time thus reducing many production risks.

Office communications are diversified with live phone, email, fax, toll free 1-800 line and wireless phones keep us connected with customers and each other. We have in-house mechanics ready to attend to our equipment needs and a P. Eng Structural Engineer on retainer to provide our firm with answers that we can count on. Our 3,000 sq. ft. sheet metal shop is complete with extensive storage racking which provides a solid base to fabricate our own sheet metal specifications for each project.

Our construction experience allows us to complete many phases of building reconstruction. By working on plumbing tie-ins, carpentry work, cutting steel, welding and rigging (lifting crane work)we facilitate on-site progress. This eliminates many crossovers in trades and provides timely continuity throughout each project.

Safety has become an integral part of our daily operations. To date, we have worked 883 days with no lost time accidents.Our Workers Safety and Insurance Board record is one to be proud of.
